Score! Copic skin tones finally :)

 So I used a 40% off coupon today and bought my copic skin tone markers :) Reg $40 = tax I got them for $25 for 6 markers !!!

Crafter's block.....

Have any of you just had days where no matter how much you want to create something beautiful and new , you just can't? I am having that problem this week. I see beautiful cards and new layouts I get my stuff out and NOTHING!!!
On a brighter note I'm hoping to start building my copic collection because I love digis! I love coloring so I'm hoping once I have a decent amount of colors that will help :)

Simon Says Challenge - Fruity

This week's challenge is fruity ! http://simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/.
I tried paper piecing for the 1 st time :) I like the look and believe I will be experimenting more with this technique. I went for colors that would make the card okay to give a man. I stamped the image on the lt brown first, then on yellow and highlighted the yellow in brown and green for the peel of the banana and stamped again on a lighter cream for the inside of the banana and also highlighted it in brown. I added a little monkey peeking over the top and pop dotted it up to give it dimension. 

Ink It Pink It - Ribbon challenge

I had some 4th of July stuff out left overs on my desk and I hadn't used ribbon on any of them so figured why not use up some of my stash :)

Another quilling card

I am still trying my hand at quilling and I love the possibilities. Here here is a cute , summery card I made tonight. Hope you like it. Another tip /trick I put small amounts of glue into a contact case to use for dipping my toothpick in to apply the glue , it's small and washes out easy.

"Lasting Memories" Contest

This challenge was right up my alley and had me grabbing pet photos from everywhere to scrap :) My daughter Ciera and her pig Ebony won out for me posting for this challenge . Ebony was a handful, but brought a lot of laughter into our home, she will be missed. Her favorite food was asparagus, she came running anytime she her the fridge open or a bag open, she slept in my daughter's bed and LOVED to be scratched with a back scratcher.

Quilling

So I'm all up for learning new things and I found my quilling stash I had bought ages ago and never tried actually making anything. I made this card and think for my 1st try it didn't do too bad. I plan to make a lot more quilling projects . One great tip I found very useful is to use toothpicks to apply the glue :)

Simon Says Stamp Challenge

I used  his Adirondack alcohol inks in current and peach bellini on white glossy card stock, I stamped a flower image and decorated them with stickles to add some bling . I added a metal sentiment that says nature's beauty.

I LOVE how this turned out :)

A craft at my kids request

I'm making multiplication cards for my 9 yr old and of course I couldn't just print them out on white paper(too easy). I had to color them, score them and laminate them.....I got the cards from www.Printable-Flash-Cards.com

I took a white cardstock card and inked the edges in green and used a green whitewashed back border. I stamped an image of an old truck ( one of my favs) and wrote " They don't make trucks like this anymore...on the inside or Dad's like you ... Happy Father's Day!" I double wrapped twine at the top .

chipboard love book

Ecraft test project ! I cut 4' in chipboard heavier for the front and back cover and med for the inside pages, I cut 3 1/2 in love pages for the insides . I glued them all in place and and tied ribbon to a ring that I punched a hole through each top of the page. Simple gift idea took me less than 20 minutes from start to finish.

Chillin on a dirt road came to mind with the truck and the theme was anything goes but to use twine if you had it. I used my sew easy handle to punch some holes to sew the twine through and I stamped a truck image(in brown) on a blue background . I added the saying( in green)  and some gold stars :)

So far this machine has cut everything I've put in it ! Even heavy chipboard!! I made a 4' chipboard heart book just tinkering last night , I will post pics soon :)

Used a plastic overlay that says " find adventures everywhere" , I printed an awesome Dad background and used it as the back frame .

Spray painted a picture frame black, cut out cursive 101 letters from vinyl used Cricut ,added saying to the front of glass :D 
Cheap , easy gift for all occasions just change the saying to what you want 

2012 Challenge

I am going to challenge myself to making 12 12x12 layouts , 1 mini album, 2 altered items, and 24 cards by January 1st 2013 ....If I succeed I will be back on track and using up all the goodies I buy weekly:D  I hope to out do my challenge ....
